Chaucer: The Canterbury Tales

Description
In this course, we will read the Canterbury Tales (in Middle English) as well as other texts that inform Chaucer’s work. In addition to exploring ways of analyzing the Tales, the course will examine some of the prominent characteristics of Middle English in order to foster close-reading skills. Required assignments include a midterm, a final, and two essays.
