Description

Ten years have passed since the 9/11 events, and a significant body of film and literature has appeared to commemorate and investigate their significance. We will study a selection of films, novels and theoretical works which address 9/11 and its outcomes. Required texts (subject to availability)are listed below; further materials will be available in a course reader to be purchased from the Davis Copy Shop (3rd and A). evening showings of the films will be arranged (Provisional list: United 93, 11 September, The Visitor).

Laptops will not be permitted in the lecture hall without documented need. (TAs will decide on laptop policies for the sections).

Grading

To be decided: a combination of exams and papers (weighted roughly equally)and a participation component to be decided by the TA.
