Description
Introduction to upper division courses through a study of major writers and representative literary forms from Chaucer’s time to the end of the 17th century. The course is designed to help you gain a sense of historical change and to develop the ability to read and write in depth about the literature studied.
Grading
Assignments: three essays (each about 5 pages in length) and a final examination; several shorter essays and reading quizzes.
