English 100P - Fall, 2013
Creative Writing: Poetry
Class Information
Instructor:
Clover, Joshua
Time:
TR 1:40-3:00
Location:
308 Voorhies
Description
We will write poetry every week and also read poetry every week and also maybe read some essays about poetry and other stuff. We will discuss all this material. This is a course for poets who think that poetry is part of history, politics, theory, and everything else — not a separate endeavor that needs to be protected from those things. If that's not you, another 100P will be coming around soon.
Grading
Grade based entirely on the care and thoughtfulness put into responding to readings every week: first and foremost your peers' poems, but also everything else. Attending every meeting, participating every time, and being both interpersonally decent and intellectually serious are expected simply for a passing grade.
