Class Information

Embry, Karen
Time:
TR 3:10-4:30
Location:

Description
We will spend the majority of the course analyzing and discussing student poems in a workshop format. Some class time will also be devoted to writing experiments that foster new work. In addition, we will read and discuss essays on poetics, as well as selections from contemporary poetry.
Grading
Students will be expected to write thirteen new poems over the quarter and revise ten for a final portfolio. Grades will be based on the portfolio, class participation in discussion and workshop, as well as a reflective essay engaging with our readings on poetics.
