Gary Snyder Inducted into the California Hall of Fame

UC Davis English Professor Emeritus Gary Snyder, who is know for his work as both an environmentalist and a Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, was inducted into the California Hall of Fame earlier this week. At the ceremony, he explained the central concern of his work, which "explore[s] the intersection between nature and human beings," this way: "we live in a society which has never quite been able to accept nature, except maybe as material that you use for your own purposes." You can read more about Professor Snyder and his work here, and watch a video of the ceremony on the museum's Facebook page. Artifacts of his work will also be included in the museum's current exhibit, which runs from December 6th through October 31st of next year.
