What is racial capitalism?

What is racial capitalism?
The first event from this year's new Mellon Foundation supported research initiative will try to answer that question along with a few others, including: "Why is thinking about race and capitalism together important today?"

English Professor Mark Jerng and History Professor Justin Leroy are the brains behind this Davis Humanities Institute initiative, which holds its first event, "What is Racial Capitalism?" on October 4 at 4pm in 126 Voorhies Hall.

Events to follow this fall feature English faculty Professor Joshua Clover--appearing with Duke Literature Professor Michael Hardt on October 25 at 4pm in the Manetti Shrem Museum--and Jerng in dialogue with University of Chicago English Professor Adrienne Brown on November 1 in the Davis Humanities Institute Conference Room (228 Voorhies).
