Previously we wrote to announce that Professor Yiyun Li had made the shortlist for the Sunday Times EFG Short Story Award, billed as "the world’s richest prize for a single short story," for her story "A Sheltered Woman" which originally appeared in The New Yorker. Now we are thrilled to write again to say that she has just been awarded the £30,000 prize! What is more, her win is historic: she is the first woman to ever receive the prize!
