Description

This course is intended for 2015-16 instructors of English 3. We will emphasize hands-on practice as we consider the formal vocabulary and methods of close reading appropriate for teaching narrative, drama, and poetry; discuss various strategies for teaching each genre; cover means of integrating writing instruction with literary analysis; and grapple with the challenges and opportunities posed by digitization and the globalized classroom. In addition to participating in class discussions and exercises, students will visit and evaluate one of the ENL 3 courses being taught during the term.
