Creative Writing: Advanced Poetry

Description
In this advanced workshop, students will have the opportunity to work on their original poetry in a small group of writers. Since everyone in the class will have some background in poetry, there will be an opportunity for nuanced discussion and exploration.
Additionally, the reading will be focused on several recent books of poetry by contemporary poets.
Grading
Critiques of workshop poems, reading assignments, craft assignments, poems brought into the workshop, and a final portfolio of ten poems that includes an essay on poetic development over the quarter.
