Description
What are the sources of richness, pleasure, and tension in poetry?  What is it that poets hope to offer to readers?  This class in close reading will cover a wide variety of poetry and will give participants a poet's-eye view of elements of craft, inspiration, and content that go into the making of poems.



Grading
Two short essays, quizzes and participation, and a final exam.
