Description
In a purely chronological sense, novels are about months and years while short stories are about moments: moments of climax, moments of epiphany, moments of clarity, moments of precipice. We will, in this course, examine the history of the American short story, with special attention to the way various elements of the form help us make meaning via these marks on the page.
