Alumni Profiles: Erin Foley

Meet Erin Foley, an Alumni who now works for a non-profit organization. Read more about Erin Foley Below.

What is your favorite memory at UC Davis?

Picking a single favorite memory at UC Davis is difficult as I had so many wonderful experiences while I attended Davis. Many of them involve being a member of the Cal Aggie Marching Band-uh!, getting to work with the friends I made as an employee at Unitrans, or simply hanging out with my roommates at home or on the quad. All three of these gave me such a positive sense of community and made my experience at Davis wonderful. So while it is not a single memory, I think the most memorable part of attending UC Davis was the sense of community and belonging I received while I was there.

What are you up to now, personally or professionally?

I now live in the Bay Area. I have a Master's and Teaching Credential in Special Education from SFSU in Orientation and Mobility. I work for a non-profit where I teach white cane and travel skills to young adults with vision loss. I also teach other subjects including cooking, cleaning, and financial management. I absolutely love my job! In the summer of 2018, I began teaching two of the Master's classes at SFSU for the Orientation and Mobility Department and was accepted to the Joint Doctoral Program in Special Education between UC Berkeley and SFSU. I am married to a UC Davis alum I met through work and the Band-uh! When not working, we love to go camping and hiking--pretty much anywhere we can take our lab. I am also a self-published writer. I have the first three books of a six-book YA fantasy series published with the rest due out by the end of May.
