NY Times Best of 2019 List Features Professor Peterson
Professor Katie Peterson's latest book, A Piece of Good News is one of The New York Times Best Poetry Books of 2019.
David Orr writes in the Times, "Peterson’s prickly, playful book is filled with quasi parables (including a poem called 'New Parable') that often keep an attractive distance from their own sponsoring emotions — attractive in part because when Peterson chooses to narrow that gap, the results are striking."
Peterson is in great company on this list, which also features recent work from poet/critic Fred Moten and Pulitzer Prize Finalist Campbell McGrath as well as the collected poems of Jane Mead.
After the "kind of year in which things fly apart," Orr writes, "you might consider turning to contemporary poetry." We heartily agree! Congratulations to Professor Peterson!
