Description
This class argues that African-American literature is in the midst of major changes in terms of how race is articulated and what solidarities can be envisioned through art. We will be looking at novels, plays, comic books, and films that will offer us a broad vocabulary for exploring Black futures and the means to reject older formations of racialization. We will also use this class to discuss the pitfalls of making radical departures from the past.
