Bio

TJ Advincula-De Los Angeles is a PhD student in English. Their research focuses on depictions of alterity and otherness in Middle and Old English works with special interest given to monstrosity constructed by religion. 

They are particularly interested in the construction and enforcement of identity and race in Medieval Literatures, medieval inter-religious relations, the use of beasts and animals as symbols of alterity, passion narratives, travel narratives, and romances of the Crusades.
