Event Date
Please join us at 4:30 on Thursday February 15th at the Manetti Shrem Museum in celebrating Professor Katie Peterson's new collection of poems, Fog and Smoke, published by FSG in January 2024. Fog and Smoke is a book about living in California in a time of national and climate crisis. Lyric and narrative poems describe the challenges and epiphanies of our present moment. The collection pays special attention to fog, a natural weather event, and smoke, the after-effect of the West's ravaging fires. Booklist, in a starred review, wrote of the collection, "Each line shines in the sun like stained glass. Fog and Smoke is a triumph of observation and intimacy that invigorates the reader to act for the natural world." Peterson will be introduced by Professor Margaret Ronda and the reading will be followed by a Q and A. Books will be for sale.
