Tomoyuki Endo is a visiting scholar in the department this quarter, from Wako University in Tokyo where he teaches 20th C Japanese and English lit in translation (some his own translation). On Tuesday, November 19, light snacks and drinks will be provided in 126 at 11:30, followed by a literature and translation short talk in 120, on the relation between Chinese ideograms and modern poetry from 12-12:45. Grad students who are available and interested are especially encouraged to attend this event.
