Biography:
Kathleen Frederickson is Associate Professor of English and affiliated faculty for the Graduate Group in Cultural Studies, as well the programs in Critical Theory, Feminist Theory and Research, Science and Technology Studies, and Environmental Humanities. Her areas of interest include nineteenth-century literature and culture in Britain and its empire; feminist and queer studies; the history of the physical and social sciences; Marxism; and psychoanalysis. She is at work on a second book, entitled Sex and Security in the Place of Nature, that investigates how eco-legal spaces such as the commons, the habitat, and the quarantine help both generate and model the economies and forms of the sexual.
