Melina Rodriguez

Melina Rodriguez is a Ph.D student in English at the University of California-Davis. Her work centers on premodern critical race, gender, and sexuality studies. Melina is additionally interested in tragedy and the interconnectivity of the tragic and the monstrous as pertains to gender, race, resistance, and social justice. She is invested in pedagogical practices that connect the academic and the personal, cultivating an empowering and supportive classroom environment.
Research Interests:
Premodern critical race studies, feminist theory, Monster theory, gender and sexuality studies, queer theory and queer of color critique, early modern studies, drama and performance studies, tragedy, Chicanx and Migration literature, as well as the plays of Shakespeare and Marlowe.
