Steven Valenzuela

Steven Valenzuela is a Chicano fiction (part time poetry) writer who draws on the experiences of growing up on the Eastside of Long Beach. In his words, his work derives from, “lived experiences, painful truths, and a unique cultural identity.” He is currently a second year MFA student at UC Davis, where he is working on his debut novel, which continues the work of representation that has been crucial to him in his development as a writer.
