Description
This course is intended for 2021-2022 instructors of English 3 and 3A. We will emphasize hands-on pedagogical practice as we consider the formal vocabulary and methods of close reading appropriate for teaching introductory critical writing through focus on poetry, fiction, and drama. We will approach various strategies for explicating, discussing, writing, and assessing cogent arguments about literary texts in a class of diverse students. In addition to seminar, students will visit and evaluate one of the ENL 3 sections being taught during the term and will generate a course syllabus for ENL 3.
