Biography:
Greg Glazner teaches creative writing and literature courses for the department. His books of poetry are From the Iron Chair and Singularity, both published by W.W. Norton. His awards include The Walt Whitman Award, the Bess Hokin Award from Poetry, and an N.E.A. Fellowship. His writing has appeared in Ploughshares, Poetry, The Colorado Review, Seneca Review, and many other magazines.
Recent fiction, essays, and poems have appeared in the Los Angeles Review of Books, Fifth Wednesday, Zone 3, Beloit Poetry Journal, and the anthologies Brief Encounters (W.W. Norton, 2015) and Truth to Power (2016). A new poetry collection, Cellar Testament, was published in 2019 by William Paterson University Press.
An electric guitarist as well as a writer, Glazner performs with bands in the area. His collaboration with composer Garrett Shatzer--Greg wrote the text and played electric guitar with the ensemble--premiered at the Center for New Music in San Francisco.
